Methodology:

The IWB (Interactive Whiteboard) is the new frontier in English language teaching. The IWB revolution is now sweeping into English language classrooms, but many teachers are still unsure and afraid of the multi-sensory potential of the IWB or simply lack sufficient IWB skills training.

This course covers IWB methodology and pedagogy through a combination of lectures and practical work-shop sessions using the Hitachi StarBoard software and IWB.  We take a look at how to incorporate the IWB technology in combination with task based language teaching (TBLT) to create student centred lessons which will motivate and stimulate your students’ learning skills.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have limited experience on the IWB, this course will enable you to resource and prepare multi-sensory lesson ideas and unleash the IWB potential in teaching English.  Also, it gives you the opportunity to have practical skills training on the Hitachi StarBoard given by qualified Hitachi StarBoard Teacher Trainers.

Follow up:

On the final day all participants will be asked to present and share the resources they have created and give feedback as to how these resources can be applied to their own teaching situation. Open discussion within the group and Trainer feedback will be given accordingly.

Participants will be asked to fill in an end-of-course questionnaire, which not only allows them to comment on the course just completed, but also allows them to reflect on what they have learnt and how they plan to integrate these ideas into their own teaching environmentOn-line support with other participants will also be available for continuing reflection and self-improvement
